Strange.
The Yanks got pounded last night, which happens. However, the fact that they let new first basmen Nick Swisher pitch the end of the game (just for shits and giggles?!?) is quite rare.
Updates from Yankees.com:
Catcher Jose Molina expected nothing but four-seam fastballs, so he never bothered to put down a sign.
Nick Swisher went into the stretch, leaning in and looking for the sign. There...
House on a Rock.
Obama gave an above average speech on the economy today. I liked that he spent a a lot of time addressing his critics, and had tougher rhetoric on Wall Street excess.

China wins Pentagon war game.
From Politico:
There were five teams: The United States, Russia, China, East Asia and “all others.” They were overseen by a “White Cell” group that functioned as referees, who decided the impact of the moves made by each team as they struggled for economic dominance. At the end of the two days, the Chinese team emerged as the victors of the overall game-

Imagine a company that produces widgets (companies in these examples always produce widgets), normally selling 100 each month. The company tries to keep one month’s sales, 100 widgets, in inventory. But for some reason sales drop off, to 90 per month. And it takes a month before the company realizes what has happened.
At the end of that month the company, having produced 100 widgets but sold...

Obama needs to get his kids a goddamn dog before he starts to look like an asshole.
Yea!
Just beat a shit talker on Madden. Feels good.
Dave King on famous drum fills:
It’s like if you covered “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins and didn’t do “the fill that brings in the big chorus.” You’d get your ass kicked on the street if word got out that you were the doof that thought you could do better. Phil Collins fans are fucking vicious and they will shank you without thinking twice.

Still pondering. (Budget Part II)
So, it’s midnight and I still can’t wrap my head around this budget. Republicans are known to worship Regan, but its seems Bush is still their guy. This is evident in their budget proposal: keeping the 2001 tax cuts, trying to privatize medicaid, and increasing Pentagon spending. I can’t seem to accept that they missed the whole 2008 election. A clear dismissal of the Bush...
April Fools indeed.
All day long I was waiting for an April fools laugh. As Obama officials have pointed out, this is it. Today the republicans released (for reals this time) a detailed budget. Highlights include: massive taxs cuts for the weathly (they justify this by allowing people to choose whether they want a lower tax rate or not?!?), freezing almost all federal spending for 5 years (because cutting government...

Well, Republicans must be quite pissed about this...
Nearly half of those surveyed (46%) say AIG management is “most to blame for the fact that these bonuses were paid.” Almost one in five (19%) finger Congress, while 8% blame Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and 7% say President Obama bears responsibility.
This scares the shit out of me.
TULSA, Okla. – One of the most deadly spiders in the world has been found in the produce section of a Tulsa grocery store. An employee of Whole Foods Market found the Brazilian Wandering Spider Sunday in bananas from Honduras and managed to catch it in a container.
Disturbing.
From Gallup: Although a majority of Americans believe the seriousness of global warming is either correctly portrayed in the news or underestimated, a record-high 41% now say it is exaggerated. This represents the highest level of public skepticism about mainstream reporting on global warming seen in more than a decade of Gallup polling on the subject.

The new U2 album has recieved 5 stars from rolling stone…surprise, suprise. You know, because how to dismantle an atom bomb (or whatever) was so good that we are just dying for another one. I HATE U2, I hope this album flops, and in the spirit of Rush Limbaugh, I hope it fails.

Such a departure from the Bush Administrations ‘our way of the highway’ mindset. The elevation of Cold War style rhetoric near the end of last year was beginning to trouble me. This offer was warmly recieved by Russia, and it will be amazing if this deal could actually be implemented. (Meaning, will Russia actually try to thwart the Iranian nuclear program??)

Many that know me know that I have the serious hots for Rihanna. So when I see NO major grammy nominations for her, I get angry. Rihanna has had a huge single on the radio every week for the last year. This puzzles me. (Yes, i’m defending Rihanna and pop music on my blog…This also puzzles me.)
Obama Breaking Promises? →
To many, it might seem that Obama is breaking core campaign promises before their moveon.org victory stickers have even come in the mail. Let me give my two sense.
The reason that Obama is a great leader, is because he won’t submit to standard sets of thinking. He is not going to tax the rich just for the hell of it. He is not Robin Hood. Blind ideologies like that are outdated, and the...

Is there anyone funnier than Larry David? →
Larry David of Curb. and Seinfeld writes a short peice on current politics. Highlights include thoughts of suicide ( if mccain/palin wins ) and his feeling on how democracy is more important than bigotry ( who knew he was so patriotic? )
