April Fools indeed.
All day long I was waiting for an April fools laugh. As Obama officials have pointed out, this is it. Today the republicans released (for reals this time) a detailed budget. Highlights include: massive taxs cuts for the weathly (they justify this by allowing people to choose whether they want a lower tax rate or not?!?), freezing almost all federal spending for 5 years (because cutting government spending worked great for Hoover in the great depression?), privatizing medicaid (because you know, the market is oh so stable?), completely abolishing the federal stimulus (because I guess we don’t need 3 million jobs right now?). Anyway, despite the date they are serious. I consider this an insult as an American citizen, I really do. I just don’t understand what is going on inside the GOP’s heads. We need a semi respectable republican party atleast to rein in the dems. I just don’t understand. They are taking pandering to a new level.
